Problem with particle placement algorithm

Postby MMarco88 » Mon May 30, 2016 9:40 am

Hallo,

I have a problem with the particle placement during the generation of the LDPM mesh.

I am using the version of Mars:
Version: 2016.3.03 [Gnu Compiler - OpenMP]
Build date: Apr 26 2016

I am trying to increase the resolution of my model decreasing the MinAggregate to 6, 4 and 2 mm.

Since the algorithm can't place all the particles, I increased the MaximumIterations to 100000 and to 1000000 with very small improvement.

Looking at the output file I noticed that the MaximumIterations influences just the placement of the points on the edges but not the actual particle placement which stays always at 10000 that is the default value.

Attached you can find the output of mars in a word file and the Gen.mrs file.

Thank you, MM

There was a bug about the max iteration number, which was reported before (viewtopic.php?f=24&t=63). This bug has already been fixed in version 2016.5.00. Please be sure to read the change log before adopting the new version.

To get a finer mesh resolution, it's recommended to decrease both minimum and maximum aggregate size at the same time and keep the ratio to 1:2.
