Restart file issues with Paraview

Postby khodaie » Wed Aug 26, 2015 7:41 pm

Hello all,

Restart files are very useful in case the simulation stops unexpectedly. But I have this issue with restarting the simulation using the restart file. The Paraview output files do not generate normally and instead, some files like PLOT.00# are generated that I can't read using Paraview. Has anyone encountered the same issue? What causes the problem and is it possible that the user can fix that?

Thanks,
Sina Khodaie

Can you provide an input file so we can test?

PLOT.00# tells that you are writing plot files for Quasar, not Paraview. Paraview files usually end with .vtu.

The input file
RunCyl.mrs
(2.96 KiB) Downloaded 703 times
is for running an unconfined compression test on a cylinder specimen and it has only Paraview output request.
file
GenCyl.mrs
(827 Bytes) Downloaded 727 times
is for the creation of the LDPM specimen.

with this line in the input file: "WriteRestartFile Every 10 ms" I get a restart file every 10 ms.
To perform a simulation with restart file, in the ".sh" file I change the line: "marsO -B RunCyl.mrs" to "marsO -B RunCyl.rst.020000".

But the output gives Quasar plot data(PLOT.00#) instead of Paraview output(*.vtu)
